Summer Camp Director
Description
Ontario Learning Development Foundation (OLDF) seeks camp Director to join our summer learning camp.
Ontario Learning Development Foundation (OLDF) is a registered charity in Canada that performs training and educational services for youths, children, new immigrants, and seniors. Our mission is to transform our communities through integrated educational and community-response empowerment initiatives for children, youth, new immigrants and their families.
Responsibilities:
Camp Directors must have extensive experience managing staff and working in our summer camp programs. Camp Directors must be mature and typically possess a degree within the field of Education, Child Psychology, Social Work, or an equivalent field.
*Supervise staff and children in their locations
*Teach young staff to foster positive youth development
*Work closely with parents and families
*Model program participation and appropriate interaction with children
*Coordinate staff training
*Implement and promote the HIGH FIVE Principles of healthy child development in program plans and instructional approaches.
Qualifications:
· Currently enrolled or recently graduated in a relevant post-secondary program (education, teaching, ECE, child care, etc.)
· Highly proficient with Microsoft Office products (including MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint,) and the Internet
· Must have strong interpersonal, communication, time management and organizational skills
· You must have Emergency First Aid and CPR C or higher
· Police Vulnerable Sector Check required.
· Must provide the High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development Certification and Quest 2 or be willing to obtain it before the start of camp.
· High level of energy is required to keep staff and children motivated
· Be a quick learner and self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
· Maturity and professionalism
· Experience with tutoring/teaching or previous camp counsellor experience preferred
Requirements:
- This required 30-35 hours per week
- Number of positions - 1
- Rate: $17/hour
- Must be available Monday - Friday | 8.45 am - 3:30 PM | May 20 - August 16, 2024

Since this is a funded position by Canada Summer Job grants, all applicants must be youth (citizen, PR or conventional refugee) between 15 -30 years of age to qualify.
